£21m extra for social care to help the vulnerable

£21m extra for social care to help the vulnerable

The government has recently given the County Council an extra £21 million to help vulnerable people in Gloucestershire. This comes on top of £4 million already delivered by Gloucestershire County Council this year.

This extra funding will mean more support for older people who need help and will include £400,000 extra specifically to help people with mental health problems.  Since taking control of the County Council, local Conservatives have made helping the vulnerable a key priority, saving money across the council to protect social care spending and increase it where possible.
