I was born and raised in Cheltenham: I went to St Edward's School, played rugby for the Old Pats and worked as a lifeguard at the lido. I went away for university, but am back after doing my PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Manchester.
I am real Cheltenham local and care passionately about the environment, health in young people, education, and defence and security at the national level. At our local level, I want to ensure that Sandford Park Lido stays open at all costs (this falls just outside the Charlton Park boundary, but is a vital facility for the people of Cheltenham.). I want to keep Coxes Meadow at a high standard of natural beauty and as a flood defence mechanism. I would also like to encourage sport in young people and look at funding for local sports clubs.
