The current incarnation of the Stroud constituency was established in 1955 and lies south of Gloucester, between the two larger rural constituencies of the North Cotswolds and South Cotswolds. Though partially situated in the Cotswold Hills, Stroud is both smaller in area and more industrialised than these neighbours. Much of the constituency is rural in character, but through the sparsely populated bulk, is a belt across its middle that has a group of small but more urbanised villages, including Caincross, Cam and Rodborough.
Stroud itself is an attractive market town that has a well supported Conservative Association, with plenty of events and activities for its members.
Stroud Conservative Association is a voluntary body that promotes the election of Conservatives to elected positions in Stroud.
The Association is run by a Management Team comprising:
President - Haydn Jones
Chair - Lindsey Green
Deputy Chair, Political - Hena Mannan-Rahman
Deputy Chair, Membership and Finance - Sal Ransome
Treasurer - Max Howells
